School Supplies, Orientation Information

School Supplies

New for the 2020-21 school year, the College Square PTO will be providing the items from the official school supply list for all students (hybrid students and full virtual.) Hundreds of pencils, glue sticks, dry erase markers, crayons and more have been delivered to your students’ teachers at the College Square building. Thanks to everyone who helps with PTO fundraising and donations – you’re making this possible! In the past, we have offered to purchase school supplies for around $20 for Kindergarten and $35 for First and Second grade students. For those who have asked about donating to the PTO for this project, please use our PayPal link or feel free to send in a donation (check or cash) in a labelled envelope on your student’s first day of school.

Families participating in hybrid education are asked to send in either headphones or earbuds to plug into an iPad (not air buds or bluetooth) that will best suit your student. These will remain at school to be used during the in-school hybrid days. Please label these with your child’s name. It is optional for full virtual families to purchase this item.

Orientation Information

While not technically a school supply, hybrid families may wish to provide your student with a labelled water bottle as the water fountains have been disconnected. Check out the 20-21 School Year CS Student and Family Orientation Slides on College Square’s homepage for more specifics about snacks and treats, school meals, arrival and dismissal procedures, specials, recess, and more.

The College Square homepage has been updated with What to Expect documents for Hybrid and Virtual students. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our principal, Dr. Hiles (hilesj@basd.k12.pa.us).

We look forward to supporting the College Square teachers and staff and looking for unique and different ways to stay involved with our students this upcoming year. We will be posting information about our upcoming September PTO meeting here and in the PTO Facebook group. Breathe deeply, and here’s to a great start to the school year!
