School Supplies, Orientation Information

School Supplies

New for the 2020-21 school year, the College Square PTO will be providing the items from the official school supply list for all students (hybrid students and full virtual.) Hundreds of pencils, glue sticks, dry erase markers, crayons and more have been delivered to your students’ teachers at the College Square building. Thanks to everyone who helps with PTO fundraising and donations – you’re making this possible! In the past, we have offered to purchase school supplies for around $20 for Kindergarten and $35 for First and Second grade students. For those who have asked about donating to the PTO for this project, please use our PayPal link or feel free to send in a donation (check or cash) in a labelled envelope on your student’s first day of school.

Families participating in hybrid education are asked to send in either headphones or earbuds to plug into an iPad (not air buds or bluetooth) that will best suit your student. These will remain at school to be used during the in-school hybrid days. Please label these with your child’s name. It is optional for full virtual families to purchase this item.

Orientation Information

While not technically a school supply, hybrid families may wish to provide your student with a labelled water bottle as the water fountains have been disconnected. Check out the 20-21 School Year CS Student and Family Orientation Slides on College Square’s homepage for more specifics about snacks and treats, school meals, arrival and dismissal procedures, specials, recess, and more.

The College Square homepage has been updated with What to Expect documents for Hybrid and Virtual students. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our principal, Dr. Hiles (

We look forward to supporting the College Square teachers and staff and looking for unique and different ways to stay involved with our students this upcoming year. We will be posting information about our upcoming September PTO meeting here and in the PTO Facebook group. Breathe deeply, and here’s to a great start to the school year!

Veterans Day Program 2019

November 8th, 2019 2:30pm
Information should have come home about the Veterans Day program on Friday. (Please see picture of note.)
Students are welcome to invite any special veterans from their lives to attend the program with them. Photography by James is donating their time and efforts to take a special picture of each child with their veteran. Due to this, we welcome veterans to the school at 2pm.

If anyone plans to attend, please fill out the bottom of the note coming home and return it to school so that we can communicate this to the teachers. We will also need this info to announce each veteran in attendance during the program AND for sign-in purposes.

If your veteran is unable to attend, you can email pictures to include in a slideshow. If you emailed Amanda a pic last year, you can send a message to Amanda or email her at the address below.

Please reach out to Amanda Cypher with any questions.

School Store Fundraiser

Today all our College Square Students went home with a large SchoolStore Envelope in their book bags.  This is amazing fundraiser and very easy for our school to raise a large amount of money.  Last year we raised $9600 in Caring for Classroom Teacher Gift Cards and $2200 in Cash Rebates to help fund Field trips and purchase Supplies for our school with.

All you have to do is go to to sign up to participate and then return the filled out envelope back to your student’s teacher.  Every student who returns their envelope completed will receive a participation prize, a plush book bag buddy.  Every child who returns their complete envelope by Friday, September 20th will be entered in to a classroom and school (College Square) wide drawing.  The classroom prize is a plush arm buddy and the school wide drawing is a talking dancing Emoji Robot.

SchoolStore works like E-Bates.  Once on the School Store’s website click on the merchants tab and then choose the online store you wish to shop on.  Our school will get a portion of what was spent.

School Store also offers Teacher Gift Cards called Caring for Classrooms.
